Barnstable Firefighters Rescue Man Stuck In Tree

A man got stuck in a tree 15 feet above the ground when another tree he was cutting fell on his leg.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Barnstable firefighters rescued a man Thursday who got stuck in a tree while trying to cut down another tree.

Around 12:30 p.m., fire officials were called to a home on Main Street near Keaveny Lane. Fire officials said they found a 65-year-old man stuck 15 feet above the ground.

The man's leg got pinned between two trees when the other tree he was cutting down fell towards him. Fire officials carefully cut and lifted the branches off the man and brought him down to a stretcher. It took firefighters about an hour to bring the man safely to the ground.

Fire officials said the man was taken to Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis with serious injuries, but those injuries were not life-threatening.
