Barnstable Hosting Local Comprehensive Plan Input Sessions
Two workshops are scheduled for the end of February and the beginning of March. Here's what to know.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Barnstable is currently working to update the Town’s Local Comprehensive Plan (LCP) which is "a long-term vision and growth policy that will guide Barnstable’s future over the next ten years," officials said.
Now, they're seeking additional public input.
Town staff, together with consultants Barrett Planning Group, Dodson & Flinker and Horsley Witten Group, are hosting an upcoming "Bringing It Together" workshop for the community.

Key themes of public input collected over the last five months will be presented, as well as trends related to topics including to housing, economy, transportation, open space and equity, officials said.
There will be two community visioning workshops. The first is a virtual workshop on Feb. 28 between 12 to 1:15 p.m., and the second is an in-person workshop on March 1 between 5 to 7 p.m.

Pizza will be provided at the in-person workshop and, in partnership with Barnstable Recreation, arts and crafts and a movie will be available for children ages kindergarten through 5th grade.
The content and structure of the two workshops will be the same, with the exception of one extra exercise at the end of the in-person workshop.

"Your input is critical to successfully establish a vision for the future of Barnstable, which will inform goals and strategies that will be created as a part of the LCP update," officials said.
