Barnstable Police Arrest Fentanyl Trafficking Suspect

Michael Cahoon, of Yarmouth, was arrested by Barnstable police and charged with fentanyl trafficking during an undercover sting.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Barnstable and Yarmouth police teamed up and on Friday arrested an alleged fentanyl dealer during an undercover sting. Michael Cahoon, 26, of Yarmouth, was charged with drug trafficking and held on $7,500 bail pending an arraignment. Police said he was found with 40 grams of fentanyl worth several thousand dollars.

Police said they launched the investigation in March and discovered Cahoon was dealing fentanyl out of his Duffy Road residence. After obtaining an arrest warrant, officers on Friday raided Cahoon's home and took him into custody. His girlfriend and two family members were also at the residence, police said.

Cahoon hid the drugs in his bedroom, police said, adding they also found "unprescribed pharmaceuticals and other evidence relating to drug distributing such as baggies, diluting agents, and digital scales."

Police said they also seized $4,000 hidden in the bedroom.

Cahoon will be arraigned in Barnstable District Court.
