Barnstable Police, Fire Hosting Kids Day
There will be K-9 and SWAT demonstrations, a parade and free hot dogs and ice cream at Kids Day in Barnstable.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Barnstable police and fire will host their annual Kids Day event next month.
The event is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Aug. 11 at Barnstable High School. It gives children of all ages a chance to see demonstrations, equipment and vehicles from several police and fire departments. Demonstrations include showings from police K-9 units, the SWAT team and more.
There will also be a parade with emergency vehicles, bagpipes and the kid's police academy. The parade starts at 10 a.m.

And after the parade, there will be free food, including hot dogs, ice cream and soda, all donated by local businesses.
