Barnstable Police Investigation Leads To Child Pornography Arrest

Louis Ackerman Jr., 45, was caught with hundreds of videos and pictures of child pornography, according to Barnstable police.

DUXBURY, MA — A Duxbury man was arrested after he was caught with hundreds of videos and pictures of child pornography, according to a joint investigation between Barnstable police and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Louis Ackerman Jr., 45, was charged with possession of child pornography at his arraignment in Federal District Court in Boston Friday.

According to court documents, police arrested Ackerman Friday after searching his home and finding hundred of videos and images of child pornography on his laptop. Police said they also found several printed computer pages depicting child pornography under his bed.

If convicted, Ackerman faces up to 20 years in prison with a minimum five-year sentence, a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000. His detention hearing will be scheduled sometime this week.
