Barnstable Police Mourn Loss Of K9 Rokko
Barnstable Police K9 Rokko was rushed into emergency surgery on Wednesday morning but didn't survive, officials said.

BARNSTABLE, MA — The Barnstable Police Department is mourning the loss of a police K9 after the dog died on Wednesday.
The Barnstable Police K9 Foundation announced the death of Ptl. Jeff Jackson’s K9 partner Rokko on Wednesday.
Rokko's death was unexpected, as the animal was rushed into emergency surgery on Wednesday morning but ultimately didn't survive, officials said.

"Our hearts are broken from the sudden and unexpected loss of K9 Rokko," Barnstable Police Department officials said.
"Our thoughts are with Rokko’s handler K9 Officer Jeff Jackson and his family during this difficult time."
