Barnstable Police Name 2 Suspects In Hyannis Shooting, Robbery

BARNSTABLE, MA — Barnstable police have named two suspects relating to a Dec. 28 shooting and robbery in Hyannis.

At approximately 6:35 p.m., Barnstable Police officers responded to Crocker Street in Hyannis for a reported robbery and shooting. Upon arrival one of the victims had visible gunshot wounds to both of his arms, police said.

The 19-year-old victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital where he underwent surgery for his injuries and was later transported to a Boston area trauma center.

Two people have been named as suspects in the incident, they are 26-year-old Kyle Mugford and 21-year-old Damein Gonsalves, both of Hyannis, police said.

Mugford is approximately 6-feet tall and between 225-250lbs. Gonsalves is just over 5-feet tall, weighing 100-125 lbs.

Both Mugford and Gonsalves have active arrest warrants stemming from this incident for assault to murder, armed robbery and weapons charges.

Police haven't recovered any firearms, and both Gonsalves and Mugford "should be considered armed and dangerous," according to police.
