Barnstable Police Officer Recognized After Three Decades On The Job

John O'Hare is set to retire from the Barnstable Police Department after more than 34 years of service.

BARNSTABLE, MA — A fixture of the Barnstable Police Department will retire after over three decades on the job.

"It is with great honor that the Barnstable Police Department recognizes the retirement of John O’Hare and his 34+ years of service," police officials said.

O’Hare finished his career assigned to the eve shift as a Patrol Officer, officials said. During his last roll call over the weekend, O'Hare gave credit to his peers, thanking his fellow officers for their "unending support and friendship," officials said.
