Barnstable Private Schools Ranked Among Best in MA

Cape Cod Academy and St. John Paul II High School in Barnstable were ranked among the best private high schools in Massachusetts.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Cape Cod Academy and St. John Paul II High School are among the best private high schools in Massachusetts, according to a new survey.

Cape Cod Academy was ranked No. 42 and St. John Paul II High School was ranked No. 61. Andover’s Phillips Academy in Andover was ranked the best in Massachusetts—and the entire country.

The education research group based the rankings on statistics, student and parent reviews, and expert insights. Ranking factors include SAT/ACT scores, the quality of colleges that students consider, student-teacher ratio, student and parent reviews, and more.

Here’s how Cape Cod Academy fared on the survey:

  • College readiness: A
  • Four-year matriculation rate: 98 percent
  • Student culture and diversity: B
  • Student-teacher ratio: 6-1
