Barnstable Public Schools Closed Wednesday
The first day of school is being pushed to Thursday due to the heat.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Barnstable Public Schools are closed Wednesday due to a stifling forecast, pushing back the first day of school to Thursday, Aug. 30. Superintendent Meg Mayo-Brown said schools will be pushed back due to a heat index of 103 degrees.
The first day of school is now Thursday, as is preschool and kindergarten orientation.
