Barnstable Public Schools Facing 2-Hour Delay From Nor'easter

School officials said students will board school buses two hours after their normal scheduled time.

BARNSTABLE, MA — The nor'easter storm is forcing Barnstable Public Schools to open two hours later Wednesday morning.

Barnstable High School will open at 9:20 a.m. Grades 4-7 will start at 10:10 a.m., and kindergarten to grade 3 students will start at 11 a.m.

Forecasters say the storm could see wind gusts exceed 70 mph into Wednesday morning. A high wind warning is in effect until 2 p.m. Wednesday. The National Weather Service also predicted

"Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines," the National Weather Service said. "Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles."
