Barnstable Road Work Projects Continue: Closures, Timeline

BARNSTABLE, MA — Barnstable road work continues this week, causing some alterations to roadway traffic and prompting two closures.

Starting on Wednesday through Feb. 14, sewer installation is "anticipated" within the intersection of Phinney’s Lane and Old Strawberry Hill Road, Barnstable officials said.

As a result, Old Strawberry Hill Road will be closed from Route 132 to Sunny-Wood Drive.

Additionally, sewer installation continues to progress along Phinney’s Lane from Great Marsh Road towards Pond Street and from Marc Avenue towards Midway Drive. Road closures with posted detours will be in place, along with police details to assist in directing traffic, officials said.

All closed roadways continue to remain accessible to local resident traffic only.

"As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through the road construction areas, and follow posted safety and detour signs," officials said.
