Barnstable Sewer Project Continues: Traffic Alterations, Dates

The ongoing Barnstable project will have impacts on drivers starting Tuesday. Here's what to know.

BARNSTABLE, MA — The Strawberry Hill Road sewer expansion project is continuing in Barnstable this week, with updates to traffic alterations related to the work.

Starting Tuesday through Friday, sewer installation will progress between Route 132 and Statice Lane, town officials announced.

Local travel on Phinney’s Lane will be maintained. Access to the Barnstable Natural Resources-Marine & Environmental Affairs (MEA) building will be impacted, as shown in the graphic below.

Police-assisted traffic monitoring will be in place. Officials said that construction equipment will be mobilized daily, and drivers should expect delays.

"As always, please slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through the road construction areas, and follow posted safety and detour signs," officials said.
