Barnstable Shellfishing Reopens
Shellfishing in Barnstable was reopened Wednesday after heavy rain forced a closure.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Shellfishing was reopened in Barnstable Wednesday after heavy rain last week forced officials to close the harvest for several days. Barnstable, along with Falmouth, Bourne, Sandwich, Mashpee and Lewis Bay in Yarmouth, were closed to shellfishing Saturday after thunderstorms drenched the region in more than 4 inches of rain, causing flooding.
