Brewster's 'Brew Run' Is Back: Traffic Delays, Route For This Weekend

The 43rd annual race is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Saturday. Expect traffic delays during race time, local officials say.

BREWSTER, MA — The 43rd annual "Brew Run" is back in Brewster this weekend, and there's plenty that residents and runners alike should know before the race begins.

Runners will take off from The Woodshed on Route 6A at 4 p.m. sharp, but traffic delays are expected along the route from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The 5.2-mile road race ends at the north end of Route 124, so expect delays on Route 6A, Route 124, Route 137, Tubman Road, Stony Brook Road, and Lower Road, the Brewster Fire Department said.

Eddy Elementary School will provide special event parking on Route 6A, and shuttle buses will run from 2:45 to 3:30 p.m. to take runners to the starting line. Local police will be out assisting motorists with detours.

Starting a race at 4 p.m. in August is always risky when it comes to heat, but the National Weather Service has great news for those participating in the run. Temperatures should top out in the low 70s on Saturday, dipping into the mid-60s as the night progresses.
