'Brutal' Attack On Cape Cod: Suspect Wanted

Yarmouth police said anyone who has seen Brian Mendes should contact them at 508-775-0445.

YARMOUTH, MA — Yarmouth police are asking the public's help finding a suspect in a "brutal" attack that left the victim seriously hurt. Brian Mendes, 39, has ties to the mid-Cape area, police said. He is 5 feet, 9 inches and 185 pounds. He has multiple tattoos on his arms and stomach.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Yarmouth police at 508-775-0445.

"Mendes should be considered dangerous," Yarmouth police said in a statement. "He has many violent and drug related crimes on his record and is a convicted felon."

Police said he is wanted for "his involvement in a brutal attack in Yarmouth that left the victim facing numerous facial surgeries and long lasting bodily injuries."
