Cahoon Museum Offers Special Programs For Cape Cod Art Week
Cape Cod Art Week begins at the end of April, and a number of museums and galleries are planning unique events to celebrate.

Gallery Talk
Wednesday, May 3, 11:00-11:30am
Find out what's happening in Barnstable-Hyannisfor free with the latest updates from Patch.
Learn more about the work in the Pearls Portfolio including the various printmaking processes used and the intentions and styles of the artists on display. Free with museum admission.
Guided Tour
Thursday, May 4, 11:00am-12:00pm
Offered every Thursday, this guided tour highlights something special about the museum’s historic house and current art exhibitions. For Art Week, we will take a closer look at the work in front of the museum, including work by Daina Shobrys and Robin Tost. Free with museum admission
Printmaking Workshop for Kids
Saturday, May 6, 10:30am-12:00pm
In this workshop, students explore monoprinting using a gelli plate after an interactive tour highlighting artwork on view in the current print exhibits, including prints by Alice Nicholson Galick in Fire and Ink and examples in the Pearls Portfolio. Experimentation with stencils, crayon resist and texture will be encouraged. Materials and museum admission are included. $35 non-members/$25 members
Paper Flower Fun
Saturday, May 6, 1:00pm-3:00pm
Celebrate Art Week and drop in to the Cahoon Classroom to make paper flowers inspired by the installation of Daina Shobrys’ work on the museum’s grounds. Free with museum admission.
Cape Cod ArtWeek is a celebration of the Cape Cod arts and cultural community and their economic impact. Local arts & cultural organizations, as well as artists and creative entrepreneurs, will present innovative, creative, affordable, cultural events in communities across the region.
