Heritage Museums & Gardens

This exclusive, after-hours experience offers expert insight and up-close access to Heritage’s outstanding antique and classic car collection. Featured Vehicles: This month’s program highlights the 1932 Auburn Boattail Speedster and the 1962 Chevrolet Corvette. We will take a closer look at the differences between these two attention-getting sports cars that were built 30 years apart. The program begins in the Elm parking lot, where Auto Collections Manager Jon Elmendorf will share information about featured vehicles from Heritage’s collection, highlighting different cars each month. Get a look under the hoods and have the rare opportunity to watch and listen as the featured cars are started up and taken on demonstration drives (weather permitting). Then go behind the scenes into Heritage’s auto storage area and maintenance garage with Jon as he shares more insider insights. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with fellow enthusiasts, ask questions, and hear directly from members of Heritage’s Auto Committee about what it takes to maintain this extraordinary collection ─ all in an engaging, relaxed setting. If you’d like, arrive early to explore the Automobile Gallery exhibition From Carriage to Classic: How Automobiles Transformed America. Those who are not members of Heritage can take advantage of a discounted rate by combining this program with admission to all of Heritage for a savings of $8 for adults and $5 for youth! Members always enjoy free Main Season admission. This program takes place rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, the program will take place indoors inside the J.K. Lilly III Automobile Gallery. A limited number of tickets are available, so advance registration is highly recommended.

Cape Cod Maritime Museum

Step aboard the Schooner Hindu and journey through nearly a century of maritime history. This 1925 gaff-rigged schooner has carried generations of Provincetown locals and visitors through the harbor, witnessing the evolution of the town from a bustling fishing and whaling hub to a modern tourist destination.
Explore the Hindu’s fascinating story: built as a pleasure craft in Maine, converted to a cargo vessel during the Depression, requisitioned by the Navy in World War II, and restored with care to sail again today. Discover the challenges and triumphs of her extensive restoration, the craftsmanship of wooden schooners, and the traditions of classic sailing that the Hindu embodies. Through historic photographs, personal stories, and behind-the-scenes insights from the restoration process, attendees will learn how this beloved vessel has become a living link to Cape Cod’s maritime past.

Join us for a special glass fusing workshop led by guest artist Kim Savoie. In this hands-on class, guests will design and create a small collection of unique fused glass pendants with Kim’s guidance. You’ll explore the creative possibilities of working with colorful fusible glass, learning how to cut, layer, and arrange pieces to build eye-catching jewelry designs.
Throughout the workshop, Kim will share her expertise and demonstrate techniques that will help bring your designs to life. Once completed, the pendants will be kiln-fired to permanently fuse the glass, creating wearable pieces you can keep or give as thoughtful handmade gifts.
