Cape Cod Children's Boating Instructor Charged With Child Porn

BARNSTABLE, MA – A Cape Cod man who works as a children's boating instructor at several area yacht clubs is accused of having child porn, police said. Ronald Walsh, 66, of Mashpee, was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography.

Walsh is also an instructor for Boat Safe Massachusetts, according to police.

Walsh's home was searched following a months-long investigation into a computer at the Wampanoag Drive address that was distributing porn images and videos, police said. At least one computer had file sharing software used to distribute child porn and other digital devices were seized during the search, according to a police statement.

Walsh was arraigned in Falmouth District Court Thursday and released on personal recognizance.
