"Alley told the Officers he was driving from Hyannis to his passenger’s family summer home in West Dennis," Yarmouth police said in a statement. "He stated was using his Garmin GPS since he is from Amesbury and unfamiliar with the area. Alley stated the GPS told him to continue going straight, taking him right into the pond at the end of Lake Road."
The vehicle was almost completely submerged when officers arrived at the scene, police said. Alley was not charged in connection with driving into the pond.
