Cape Cod Fireworks Explosion Causes 'Life-Threatening' Injuries

YARMOUTH, MA — A 40-year-old is facing "life-threatening" injuries after a July 4 fireworks explosion on Cape Cod, local fire officials said.

The Yarmouth Fire and Rescue Department announced this week that a person suffered traumatic injuries to his leg and hand during a fireworks explosion on July 4.

Officials received multiple calls from 18 Cocheset Path in West Yarmouth and responded to the scene to find the injured man. Fire officials called for the availability of helicopter transport, but it was unavailable due to the weather.
