Cape Cod Girl, 3, Shot; Parents Charged
Nicholas and Alexsandra Jenner, of Yarmouth, were charged with a host of crimes after their daughter shot herself in the hand, police said.

YARMOUTH, MA — A Cape Cod couple was charged with a host of crimes after their 3-year-old daughter shot herself in the hand with her father's unsecured gun, police said Tuesday. Nicholas Jenner, 30, and Alexsandra Jenner, 29, were charged with child endangerment, among other charges.
Police said the girl grabbed a .40-caliber handgun from a nightstand in their home and shot herself on December 23. She was transported to a Boston-area hospital for treatment and was still there as of Tuesday. Police said she will make a full recovery.
"The Yarmouth Police Department reminds everyone who has a firearm to be fully aware of the proper safety procedures and their legal storage requirements and all of the Massachusetts gun laws," Yarmouth police said in a statement. "The Yarmouth Police Department also extends our gratitude to the police officers and firefighters involved in this incident as well as all of the doctors and nurses at Cape Cod Hospital and in Boston who all came together — at Christmas — and helped save this child’s life."
