CENTERVILLE, MA — It's the end of an era for a beloved Cape Cod ice cream shop, but the owners of Four Seas hope that the business will carry on.

Four Season Ice Cream is a staple in Centerville that has hosted famous guests like Taylor Swift, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and numerous eras of the Kennedy family.

Now, owners Doug and Peggy Warren, who have operated the business since 2000, are looking to sell the business.

The Cape Cod Times first reported the decision, and shared that the family is weighing whether to take the biggest offer or ensure that the business could continue as it has been for so many years.

The business sale is being overseen by Carey Commerical. According to a listing, the business is for sale at $3.1 million, which includes the 2,900 sq. ft. building.

According to the Times, the Warrens have agreed to stay on for a year to help the new owners with the transition.

On social media, the news has spread fast, prompting many locals, vacationers and summer residents to share memories.

In their responses, ownership did share their hopes for what will happen for the business, stating that, in a perfect world, an alumni of the business could continue its legacy.
