Cape Cod Level 3 Sex Offender Out On Bail After Rape Charge
A Yarmouth sex offender was released on $12,500 bail after he was charged with rape and indecent assault on a disabled person.

YARMOUTH, MA — A Yarmouth sex offender was recently released on bail after he was arrested Wednesday and charged with rape and indecent assault on an intellectually disabled person. The suspect was not publicly identified due to a restriction in state law, police said. The arrest happened Wednesday at about 5:50 p.m.
Yarmouth police said the suspect has a previous rape conviction and had warrants out for rape (subsequent offense) and indecent assault on a person with an intellectual disability. Police said the rape happened in Yarmouth. The suspect is a "Level 3" sex offender — the most dangerous designation for such suspects. These individuals are considered a "high" risk to reoffend, according to state officials.
On Thursday, the suspect was released on $12,500 bail and returned to his Yarmouth residence, police said. He is due back in Barnstable District Court May 12.
