Cape Cod Man Behind 30+ Pieces Of Graffiti: PD
Police say the 24-year-old is responsible for dozens of "tags" with a unique signature.
HYANNIS, MA – A Hyannis man was arrested Monday following a month-long investigation into over 30 pieces of graffiti, according to police. Nicholas Tawatao, 24, is accused of "tagging" buildings with the signature "BLSD."
Police launched an investigation after a patrol officer noticed a "large number" of buildings with the signature, police said. Officers identified Tawatao as a suspect and searched his home, finding nearly 100 cans of bright colored spray paint, specialty painting nozzles and sketchpads outlining his work, according to a statement from the department.
Barnstable police ask anyone who has been a victim of spray paint graffiti, especially involving the tag "BLSD," to contact Detective Kevin Connolly at connollyk@barnstablepolice.com.
