Cape Cod Man Charged With Murder In Death Of His Sister

The woman's body showed 'obvious signs of violent trauma,' police said.

SANDWICH, MA — A 67-year-old man from Sandwich faces a charge of murder in connection with the death of his 61-year-old sister.

Police found the body of Jennifer Beltrame on Tuesday after being called to a Sandwich home for a well-being check, according to a statement. When they arrived, Kenneth Beltrame was outside the residence and said his sister was inside and that she was dead.

The body showed “obvious signs of violent trauma,” said the statement from Cape & Islands District Attorney Robert J. Galibois and Sandwich Police Chief Jason Keene.

Detectives from Sandwich and the state police executed a search warrant at the home and conducted several interviews, including with Kenneth Beltrame. The investigation is continuing, police said.

Kenneth Beltrame was scheduled to be arraigned in Barnstable District Court on Wednesday. Further details, including the address of the home and who lived there, weren’t immediately available.
