Cape Cod Man Held On Fentanyl Trafficking Charges

Officials discovered over 200 grams of fentanyl during a recent search of a Mashpee home.

MASHPEE, MA — A Cape Cod man will be held without bail on drug trafficking and weapons charges, the Cape and Islands District Attorney announced this week.

Jarran Watkins, 36 years old, of Mashpee, was held without bail on dangerousness in the Falmouth District Court on charges of trafficking in 200 grams or more of heroin, morphine, opium or fentanyl and possessing ammunition without an FID card, officials said.

On Dec. 19 at approximately 2:46 p.m., members of the DEA Cape Cod Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at two properties in Mashpee, with Watkins the target of the search.

Officials found a large amount of money inside one of the properties. Inside the second property was a large quantity of narcotics including approximately 222 grams of a brownish powdery substance believed to be fentanyl, officials said.

Watkins was also found in possession of ammunition but didn't possess a license to carry or possess ammunition.

He is due back in the Falmouth District Court on January 23, 2024, for a Probable Cause Hearing.
