Cape Cod Man Licks Young Girl At Beach, Indicted On Multiple Charges

A Cape Cod man was indicted after officials said he inappropriately touched two young girls at Electric Avenue Beach in Bourne.

BOURNE, MA — A Cape Cod man was indicted on charges that he made sexual advances toward two girls, including one under the age of 14.

Jeffrey Burgess was indicted on three counts of assault and battery, one count of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 and two counts of enticing a child under 16. The charges stem from an encounter on Aug. 7.

The Cape and Islands District Attorney said police were dispatched to Electric Avenue Beach around 2:05 p.m. after Burgess approached two girls at the beach.

Officials allege that Burgess made sexual advances toward the girls and tried to persuade them to go to a wooded area near the beach. It is alleged that Burgess touched both girls on their hands and arms, and touched one girl with his tongue.

Burgess remains in custody following the indictment, officials said.
