Cape Cod Man To Serve At Least Two Years For Child Sexual Abuse

A Yarmouth man was sentenced to two to three years on indecent assault and battery of a child charges.

YARMOUTH, MA — A Cape Cod man will serve two to three years in state prison stemming from charges of sexual abuse of a minor that occurred in 2012 and 2013.

The Cape and Islands District Attorney announced the sentence of Brandon Bamford on Tuesday morning, which was lighter than the five to seven years requested by the Commonwealth.

Bamford was found guilty of indecent assault and battery of a minor under 14 for the sexual abuse of the child, who was eight or nine at the time of the abuse. According to officials, Bamford knew the victim.
