Cape Cod Man Stabbed In Drunken Fight: Police

Police said a man was stabbed in the neck with a credit card-style knife during a fight in Yarmouth involving alcohol.

YARMOUTH, MA — A man was stabbed in the neck with a credit card-style knife during a drunken fight in Yarmouth Friday, police said. The man was seriously injured and transported to a Rhode Island hospital for treatment. Police said the stabbing happened at a Reindeer Lane residence.

"Police ... determined that two men--ages 63 and 43--had argued and then fought," Yarmouth police said in a statement. "One man was cut several times in the body and neck with a Credit Card style knife and left the scene. This man was located in Dennis a short time afterwards and subsequently transferred to a Rhode Island area hospital for his serious but non-life threatening wounds."

Police said the "abuse of alcohol" led up to the fight and that neither man has been cooperative with officers.

"(A) Yarmouth Police Detective and members of the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Unit are conducting a follow-up investigation," police said.
