A Cape Cod Man Can Credit His Sweet Tooth For $1 Million Lottery Win
A hankering for a candy bar prompted the purchase of a lottery ticket for one Cape Cod man, leading to a hefty payday.
BREWSTER, MA — It's possible that no person detached from the fortunes of major candy bar companies is more appreciative of their favorite snack than Arthur Fowle.
Fowle, of Brewster, recently won a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “100X The Money” instant ticket game, lottery officials announced.
He can credit his sweet tooth for that, as Fowle was buying a candy bar when he decided to purchase the winning ticket, which he said was the first one he had bought this year.

He opted to receive his prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes. He plans on putting some of his winnings toward home improvements, lottery officials said.
Fowle bought his winning ticket at Dennis Food and Package located at 894 Route 134 in South Dennis. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale of the ticket.
