Cape Cod Police Help Confused Seal Return Home
A seal found itself on the road in Provincetown after officials said it likely got "turned around" after the tide went out over the weekend.
PROVINCETOWN, MA — Police officers in Provincetown provided an unusual piece of assistance over the weekend when an animal usually seen in the water or on the beach ended up on the road.
At about 9 p.m. on Saturday, officers on the evening shift were called to a grey seal who had wandered into the roadway near the AWOL Hotel, officials said.
"The fully grown adult seal appeared to have gotten turned around in the marsh area after the tide had gone out," police said.

The seal wasn't injured and returned back to the beach area with no issues, officials said.
