Cape Cod Power (Mostly) Restored
A reported power explosion may have been the reason thousands on the Cape were without power.
BARNSTABLE, MA — Nearly all of the 3,400 Eversource customers on the Cape have had power restored. The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency this afternoon said the vast majority of outages were in Chatham and Orleans, where more than 20 percent of all customers were in the dark.
The reason for the outage is unknown, but multiple reports indicate there was a power explosion near Countryside Drive in Chatham.
