Cape Cod Power Outages Linger Amid Late Season Nor'easter

CAPE COD, MA — Hundreds of Cape Cod residents remain without power after heavy rain and winds have wreaked havoc in the area.

Over 700 Barnstable Eversource customers are without power as of 10 a.m. on Thursday, according to the company's outage map.

Here's what other communities are dealing with lingering outages:

• Brewster — 15
• Chatham — 271
• Dennis — 10
• Eastham — 44
• Orleans — 108
• Yarmouth — 37

Cape Cod is also dealing with strong winds on Thursday. Areas of Falmouth have seen gusts close in on 50 miles per hour while Wellfleet has reported gusts of 73 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

That's having an impact on drivers and area residents, as Falmouth police are asking the public to avoid Menauhant Road in the area of Maravista.

"The roadway is impassable due to flooding, sand and disabled motor vehicles," police said.
