Cape Cod Skateboarding Accident Kills Bridgewater Man

DENNIS, MA — A Bridgewater man died in a Boston hospital Monday after suffering serious head injuries in a skateboard accident on Cape Cod earlier this month.
Martin Luttrell, 48, hit a patch of sand and fell while skateboarding at his family's cottage in Dennisport on Sept. 11, the Boston Globe reported. His family said he wasn't wearing a helmet.
Luttrell had two children, ages 9 and 11, with his wife Kelley. He worked at FamilyAid Boston, a nonprofit organization that helps homeless families.

"He was all about helping others," Kelley Luttrell's cousin told the Boston Globe.
A GoFundMe page was created to help Luttrell's family during this difficult time. As of Wednesday morning, it's raised more than $29,000.

"He lived his life to help people and his final gift is the gift of life," GoFundMe organizer Tina Hosko wrote. "To all those who have reached out, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you're able to offer any contribution to help Kelley, Max and Katie during this very difficult time, the family is grateful. Rest in Peace, Marty. You're so loved."
