Cape Cod Teen Among 3 Injured In Braintree Drunk Driving Accident

An 18-year-old from Yarmouth and two others were injured when a pickup truck crossed into their lane, striking their SUV head-on.

BRAINTREE, MA — An 18-year-old from Cape Cod and two others were injured after a head-on crash in Braintree. One person suffered life-threatening injuries.

Ryan Gorman, 39, of Holbrook, faces three counts of driving under the influence causing serious bodily injury and other moving infractions after the crash. He posted a $5,000 bail for his release.

Gorman was arraigned Monday in a hospital bed after the Sunday morning crash in Braintree.

The crash happened around 12:50 a.m. near 655 Union St. An investigation found that Gorman was heading west down Union Street when he crossed into the eastbound lane, colliding head-on with a car driven by an 18-year-old from West Yarmouth.

The 18-year-old and a 21-year-old passenger suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Another 18-year-old passenger sustained life-threatening injuries and remains hospitalized.
