Cape Cod Town Clerk Named Best In State
Ann Quirk, of Barnstable, was named the 2023 Clerk of the Year Town Clerks Association Annual Conference.

BARNSTABLE, MA — At the Massachusetts Town Clerks Association (the"Association") Annual Conference held at the Hotel 1620 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, Ann Quirk, Town Clerk of Barnstable was recognized by the members of the association for her outstanding service to the residents of her community as well as her activism within the Association. Ann was chosen by her peers as the 2023 Clerk of the Year for the Association.
Ann was chosen for her:- Demonstrated commitment to professionalism in the Town Clerk's office in Barnstable;
- Community involvement and a commitment to the cause of good local government;
- Display of the characteristics of integrity and leadership;
- Direct involvement in Association business in which she held many positions, as well as her active involvement in the New England Association of City and Town Clerks, specifically the NEMCI instructional programming and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, serving as director of Region 1; and
- Ability to show a calm and cool demeanor while dealing with extreme and difficult situations as demonstrated in the September primary in 2022 when her vault would not open during Election Day. Ann's ability to overcome such a difficult situation and successfully complete her election responsibilities demonstrated a true professionalism which her peers can only hope to rival.
