Cape Cod Woman Born On Armistice Day Celebrates 100th Birthday
Happy birthday Nicki Dunn Benson!

YARMOUTH, MA – A Cape Cod woman born on Armistice Day reached a special milestone over the weekend. For most people Sunday was the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I; for Nicki Dunn Benson, it was her 100th birthday.
Benson celebrated with her family at Heatherwood at Kings Way in Yarmouth, according to the Cape Cod Times. Benson's 70-year-old son, Michael Dunn, told the Times his mother is his "hero" for overcoming a series of tragedies, including the deaths of her husbands and her daughter.
Benson worked as a secretary to two senior partners of a law firm and later worked as executive secretary and assistant to the president and CEO of a teaching hospital. As a child, she spent her summers on Cape Cod and counts one of the earliest Cape settlers among her ancestors, according to the Times.
