The 47-year-old struck a pedestrian in Chinatown and dragged her to I-93, authorities said.

SANDWICH, MA – A Cape Cod woman was sentenced to 5-6 years in prison Thursday after pleading guilty to a 2016 hit-and-run that they district attorney's office described as "horrific." Xiao Ying Zhou, 47, of Sandwich, was behind the wheel of a Toyota RAV4 that struck a woman and her husband on Feb. 1, 2016 as they crossed Kneeland Street in Boston's Chinatown neighborhood, the Suffolk District Attorney's office said.
Zhou did not stop and drove to I-93 South while the victim was trapped underneath the car, according to the DA. The victim, now 51, survived the hit-and-run but requires a walker to move, needs help with basic activities like dressing and bathing and is unable to grip objects with her right hand.
She underwent extensive skin grafts due to "grievous" injuries to her face, torso and legs, the DA's office said.

Zhou pleaded guilty this week to charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, leaving the scene of a collision causing personal injury and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
