EASTHAM, MA — An Eastham woman pleaded guilty to stealing more than $1.8 million from from the Harbor Hill timeshare resort in Provincetown, Attorney General Maura Healey announced. Donna Zoppi, 63, was sentenced to two to three years in prison after being convicted of larceny over $250.

Between 2008 and 2015, Zoppi, the hotel's former office manager, embezzled millions from the Harbor Hill account, the Attorney General's office said. Authorities said she stole the money by writing herself checks, using the company's debit cart for personal expenses, making ATM withdrawals and wiring money from the Harbor Hill account to her own bank account.

During the same timeframe, Zoppi took lavish vacations, bought her step daughter a horse, bought club level seats at Gillette Stadium, and attended the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City, the Attorney General's office said. As a result of Zoppi’s actions, Harbor Hill declared bankruptcy in 2016.
