Police ID Cape Woman Who Died After Getting Flat Tire on Highway
The woman was struck by a truck while exiting her vehicle on the side of the road.
A 45-year-old Dennisport woman was killed Monday night when a truck hit her while she exited her vehicle after getting a flat tire on Route 6, State Police announced Tuesday morning.
Around 9:30 p.m., the victim was traveling westbound in a 2012 BMW X5 when she got a flat, pulling off just west of Exit 8 in Yarmouth onto the soft shoulder off the right travel lane. The area had no breakdown lane. As she exited her vehicle, the woman was struck by a 2000 Chevrolet pickup traveling westbound.
The woman, identified as Jacqueline Christie, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup, a 22-year-old man from Dennis, was transported to Cape Cod Hospital. No charges have been filed at this time. The incident is being investigated.
