Cape Woman Faces Second Embezzlement Charge, Stole $390K: Feds

Prosecutors said Jessica Greenan embezzled $390,000 from a Cape Cod construction company and stole more than $1 million at her previous job.

BARNSTABLE, MA — A Barnstable Woman was indicted on federal charges after prosecutors said she embezzled more than $390,000 from a Cape Cod construction company she worked at. Jessica Greenan, 42, of Centerville, was charged with seven counts of wire fraud, two counts of bank fraud and two counts of aggravated identity theft. Greenan has now faced two indictments since September when prosecutors said she embezzled more than $1 million at her past job, a case which is pending trial.

Between August 2018 and September 2018, Greenan worked as a bookkeeper at the construction company and stole their money in a variety of ways, prosecutors said. Federal prosecutors said Greenan made more than $5,300 in unauthorized charges to a company credit card and embezzled more than $287,000 from company bank accounts to pay her own credit card bills.

Prosecutors said she also converted more than $11,000 of company funds to pay her car loans, forged the owner's signature several times to conceal the fraud and stole another $6,300 in unauthorized payroll after she was fired.
