South Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, is sponsoring a lecture-workshop on "Healing and Christianity," Saturday, March 8, from 10:30 am to 12 noon as part of its Spirituality and Healing Series. This session will focus on the relationship of Jesus' healing ministry to issues of healing and wholeness, Western medicine, and complementary medicine. Bruce Epperly, Pastor of South Congregational Church, will be the featured speaker. Dr. Epperly has written a number of books on healing and spirituality, including God's Touch: Faith, Wholeness, and the Healing Miracles of Jesus; Healing Worship: Purpose and Practice; and Healing Marks: Healing and Spirituality in Mark's Gospel. Dr. Epperly was among the first persons to teach courses on spirituality and medicine at a medical school. This event is free and open to the public.
Other programs in the series will include Reiki and Christianity; Spiritual Practices for Caregivers; Spiritual Practices for Parents; and Preparing for the Aging Process.
