Centerville Playground Upgrades The Topic Of Tuesday Meeting
The playground is set to undergo renovations and expansions, and a public meeting will give the latest details. What to know.
BARNSTABLE, MA — The Town of Barnstable Community Services Department, in conjunction with the Town of Barnstable Department of Public Works and the Centerville Playground Committee, will host a Centerville Playground informational session on Tuesday.
The meeting will take place in the Barnstable Town Hall’s James H. Crocker, Jr. Hearing Room, 367 Main St., Hyannis, at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
"This event is intended to inform residents of the Committee’s proposed ideas for renovating the playground, potential parking lot expansion, and most importantly to engage the community and gather your input and suggestions to ensure we provide the much needed improvements to the Centerville Playground," officials said.

The Department of Public Works will provide a brief presentation that will cover the history of the site, proposed changes and scope of the project, the rationale for the recommended changes, playground equipment options and potential improvements to the site, officials said.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions after the presentation.

"We welcome your input and encourage you to bring your children so their voices can be included in this exciting project," officials said.
For those unable to attend, the meeting will be recorded and later broadcast through Channel 18 and other social media outlets.
"Our goal is to produce a final product that is safe, accessible, inclusive, enjoyable and representative of what the community desires," officials said.
