Charges Filed After Cape Cod Cop Struck By Car After Concert: Police

A Falmouth woman faces charges that she was operating under the influence after a concert at the Cape Cod Melody Tent this week.

HYANNIS, MA — A Cape Cod woman faces two charges after police said she struck an officer with her car while leaving a concert this week.

Lisa Limberakis, 45, of Falmouth, faces charges of operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

At approximately 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, a Barnstable police officer was directing traffic outside of the Cape Cod Melody Tent as concertgoers were leaving when a car allegedly struck his knee and flashlight, police said.

When the driver, identified as Limberakis, pulled the vehicle over, another officer spoke with her and "detected an odor of alcohol on her breath," police said.

"The officer also noticed that her eyes were red and glossy, and that she was slurring her speech. Through the officer’s investigation, she was subsequently placed under arrest," police said.

The officer declined medical attention.
