Christmas Baby Born In Barnstable Ambulance
The Barnstable Fire Department helped deliver a family's best Christmas present, a newborn daughter.
BARNSTABLE, MA — The Barnstable Fire Department delivered one family the greatest Christmas gift of all — a newborn daughter. Just before 7 p.m. Wednesday, police and fire officials were called to the Village Green Apartments at Independence Drive because a woman was in labor.
The woman was moved to an ambulance, and while on their way to Cape Cod Hospital, the paramedics delivered the family's newest member. Firefighter/EMT John Fleming, Captain Chris Beal and firefigthers Freddy Noguiera and Nick Black assisted with the delivery. The baby was born at 7:20 p.m.
"The Barnstable Fire Department and all its members would like to congratulate the parents and siblings on the amazing birth of their daughter and sister on Christmas night," fire officials said in a statement.
