Citizen of the Year Named
Hyannis Elks name Cyndy Jones of Heroes' In Transition as their Citizen of the Year

Ms. Cyndy Jones, the founder of Heroes’ In Transition Organization, was awarded this annual honor at a recent formal event at the Hyannis Elks Lodge on Bearses Way. Mrs. Jones and her husband Ken Jones are the parents of Captain Eric A. Jones, who made the ultimate sacrifice for his country on October 26, 2009. The founded HIT in his honor; allowing them to assist men and women of our armed forces who have been injured during the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other foreign wars, who need help not provided by other organizations. Through supporting and promoting their Equine Therapy Program and their Service Dog Programs as well as providing financial help for other Veterans organizations, Cyndy and her organization have been instrumental in helping many of our soldiers! The Hyannis Elks work closely with HIT to help the organization with its programs. The Elks host an annual HIT fundraiser Golf Tournament, Annual Veterans Cookout (which this year will include a Resource Fair), all to benefit those who need it the most, as well as honor those who have given of their time and much, much more. It is with great pride that the Hyannis Elks name Mrs. Cyndy Jones their Citizen of the Year!
