Clothing Brand Cinder + Salt Opens On Cape Cod

The company hosted a grand opening ceremony on Wednesday morning, and will host additional events during Memorial Day weekend.

CHATHAM, MA — An eco-friendly clothing brand is set to open doors on a second brick-and-mortar location just in time for Memorial Day weekend.

Cinder + salt hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its 645 Main St. store in Chatham on Wednesday morning, and has scheduled additional events over the weekend.

The events, starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday through 6 p.m. on Monday, mark the opening of the brand’s second brick-and-mortar location following its first in Middletown, Conn.

Chatham community members are welcome to shop the store’s clothing, jewelry, linens, wellness products and other items over the weekend. Refreshments and free gifts with a purchase will be available during the Memorial Day Weekend festivities, store representatives said.

“Opening a second store has been a goal of mine for years, and we couldn’t have found a better fit than Chatham,” said Rachel DeCavage, owner and creative director of cinder + salt, who will welcome visitors during a “meet the maker” event.

“Our whole team is so appreciative of the warm reception the community has given us since we soft opened late last month, and we are excited to grow into an integral part of the town.”

Founded in Connecticut in 2014, cinder + salt is a member of 1% for the Planet, a global movement inspiring businesses and individuals to support environmental solutions through memberships and everyday actions, represenatives said. Up to 50 percent of the company's profits are funneled straight back to the Earth through the brand’s eco-initiatives programs that span from its printshop to its stores.

Chatham store hours are as follows:

  • Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
