Boston, MA (PRWEB) JUNE 6TH, 2015 -- The OSTERVILLE VILLAGE LIBRARY on 43 Wianno Avenue, will sponsor a talk on “The Changing and Challenging Landscape of College Admissions” on Tuesday, July 7th, 2015 at 7:00 PM. Educational Consultant Carol Kinlan from McMillan, Howland, Spence, Boston’s foremost educational planners since 1955, will be making the presentation. The discussion will overview the increasingly competitive and complex nature of the college planning process. Carol will highlight the new rules for college admissions that parents of high school students should know.
Additionally, the talk will cover the Seven Key Parts of the College Admissions Process and how college admission teams weigh qualitative and quantitative factors when assessing an applicant. Carol will also discuss specific strategies for assessing a college’s ability to support students with different learning styles, especially those with learning or attentional disorders. Finally, the talk will highlight the basic admission roadmap for students seeking athletic recruitment.
Carol will be joined by her colleague, Kim Chorosiewski, McMillan, Howland, & Spence’s Athletic Recruiting Specialist. A former two-sport All-American, Athletic Director and College Coach, Kim will address the specialized process for athletes, including their distinct standardized testing plan.
Carol Kinlan’s background includes working with families seeking traditional school and college placement, as well as students with learning differences who need specialized college guidance. She holds an M.B.A. from Boston University’s School of Management and a M.Ed. from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education.
