Crash Into Utility Pole Closes Dennis Road, 150 Lose Power

Power is out from Lower County Road to the Uncle Stephen's Road neighborhood and may take hours before it's restored.

DENNIS, MA — Lighthouse Road from Lower County Road to the entrance of the Lighthouse Inn is closed after a car crashed into a utility pole Friday afternoon, Dennis police said.

Police said damage to the pole caused power outages from Lower County Road to the Uncle Stephen's Road neighborhood. Eversource crew assessed the damage and estimate it will take at least four hours to complete the repairs.

The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency reported 151 homes without power, as of 1 p.m.

Anyone that needs to get to West Dennis Beach, the Lighthouse Inn or the Uncle Stephens neighborhood can do so via Loring Avenue, during the road closure.
